Broken Garage Door Spring Replacement
A broken spring is the single most common garage door failure — and the reason your door suddenly weighs 300 pounds. We carry the most common torsion spring sizes on the truck, so most broken springs in Orange Park and Clay County are replaced in one visit.

Broken Garage Door Spring: the short answer
A broken garage door spring usually snaps with a loud bang and leaves the door too heavy to lift — even for the opener. Do not keep running the opener; it will strip its gears. Springs are under extreme tension and should only be replaced by a technician. Most replacements are completed in one visit with springs sized to your door's actual weight.
Signs you're dealing with this
If any of these sound familiar, call before the problem grows — most garage door failures are cheaper caught early.
- Loud bang from the garage, then the door won't open
- Door lifts a few inches and slams shut
- Visible 2–3 inch gap in the torsion spring above the door
- Crooked or lopsided door when opening
- Opener strains, hums, or stops halfway
How we fix it
Torsion springs, sized to your door
We measure wire size, inside diameter and spring length — and weigh the door when needed — so the replacement springs are rated for your door, not a one-size guess. Correctly sized springs mean the opener does far less work and the new springs last longer.
Replaced in pairs
Two-spring doors get both springs replaced together. They cycle together, so when one fails the other is near the end of its life too. Replacing both in one visit costs less than a second service call weeks later.
Full balance check included
After replacement we balance the door so it stays put at waist height, torque the drums and end plates, and re-set the opener's travel limits. A balanced door is what protects your opener from burning out next.
